What are you looking at?

Love Thyself ...

Self-discovery is like peeling an onion. Each layer is a new discovery ... a new shade and a new feel. And as you keep peeling till the core you cannot help but shed a few tears on the way. Its not because you didn't know these facets about yourself ; its just that you never had the guts to face them.

Do you remember the last time you had a similar experience? How did it feel to meet yourself in a new light but in the same mirror?  Well, if you didn't, then probably you aren't seeing clearly. No, I am not talking about how you behave with others, that is something which we are experts in faking up. Notice how you treat your own-self. Trust me, you'll be STUNNED.

There are innumerable agony aunt columns and relationship experts out there, who will tell you as to how we should never take our relationships or people we love, for granted. If so, then answer just one simple question - "Whom do we love the most?". I can bet on India's corruption, that each one of us will answer - "Me". Because if you cannot love yourself, you cannot love anyone else. Don't believe me....Google it ( as you always do!!). :-D

 "We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."

                                     – Prospero(The Tempest)

Life is not fair to anybody and its bloody useless lamenting about that fact. But when did Life tell you to stop loving yourself ? Wake up from the fake dreams and see what actually lies within you. Because, if that which dwells inside you, doesn't roar when the push comes, nothing else will ever make any difference. I ain't turning a  preacher nor do I claim to have seen it all. But there is something very priceless which I've read countless times before, but have actually felt recently.

“The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself.”

Wall

Bricks of accusations, mortar of silence and a foundation of frustration. Sitting across the table, Shaila and Ravi couldn't comprehend the Wall that had built up between them in the last 5 years. Ravi signed the papers and passed them to Shaila. He missed the tear drop on her signature.

Third Leg

"It is either the brains which work or the "Third Leg".....both cannot function at the same time. Literally speaking the blood flows either up or down...not both."

"Then...when does it flow to the heart? I accept that the brains may not work for a moment, but does the heart stop pumping too?  This is rubbish."

"It angers me too....but I was just stating the facts. Am not giving any opinions or suggestions."

"I know it does anger you a lot and also some species of your gender...but to actually see a sword dangling on someone's head and to feel it swooshing over yours are two completely different things. Maybe that is where the difference lies - in the Perspective."

"The danger of the sword on your head terrifies me no less too dear. Yes, it certainly does not match your anxiety but it still bothers me as much."

"That is the difference darling. The sword actually dangles between two feet and destroys every ounce of self-esteem, respect and dignity carried between the other two. The fight to prove Manhood , to show her the real place, to keep her in check and to teach her a lesson takes away the blood from the heart and simply flows to the "Third Leg". Anyways a lot has been shouted, written, debated and discussed over it...I might as well not add to that.....but it scares me that now I cannot even roam in my own gully without thinking twice or looking around suspiciously for some pair of groping hands."

"Not all men are like that... and anyways you are safe with me. No one can harm you dear."

"She must've thought the same, isn't it?"

Silence....

Shaila sighed and went back to her book and Ravi to his news. They both knew there was no definite answer to this debate and they both prayed there was one.
